Job summary

Irby Construction Company seeks a Substation Foreman in Texas to lead electrical installations for substation projects. Journeyman electricians with a valid card and 4+ years of field experience are preferred; knowledge of OSHA codes and NEC is required.

Travel and extended shifts are common, with safety and quality as top priorities. Responsibilities include overseeing trenching, grounding, cable pulling, terminations, and coordination with craft workers to deliver reliable power infrastructure

Qualifications

• Journeymen electricians must have a valid journeyman electrician card or be able to pass the Journeymen electricians test per government standards.
• Knowledge of OSHA codes and National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Texas-based role with ability to travel to project sites across locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead typical substation construction from Greenfield to remodels.
• Read control cable schedules and ensure conduit sizes are correct.
• Oversee termination of medium voltage terminations up to 34.5 kV.
• Ensure quality work per project specifications and safety policies.
• Coordinate with crew for installation of cables, breakers, metering, transformers, and buswork.
• Supervise energized panel work and field troubleshooting as needed.
