Job summary

Halker Consulting is seeking a Substation Engineering Manager to lead part of our electrical engineering team, delivering utility substation projects with technical depth. You will guide execution, mentor engineers, and collaborate with clients to shape growth strategies.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering work with leadership growth, flexibility for remote work within the U.S., and a normal travel footprint. A PE license is preferred for consulting backgrounds.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in electrical engineering in utility substation, power delivery, or distribution environments.
• Proven SME in Substation Physical Design and/or Protection & Controls.
• Experience leading projects or engineering teams; formal management not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Halker's electrical engineering team across substation and power-delivery work.
• Serve as SME in Substation Physical Design, Protection and Controls, or Communications/SCADA.
• Guide technical execution, design quality, schedules, budgets, and resource planning.
