Job summary

ControlPoint Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to support our Substation Engineering team on projects ranging from 4kV to 345kV. You will interface with clients and other disciplines, and collaborate across civil/structural interfaces.

Strong communication and team orientation are essential for success. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in the electric utility sector, and proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation, with FE being a plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• FE license is a plus with intent to obtain PE.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in electric utility industry.
• Experience in utility substation engineering with focus on electrical or physical design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Micro Station is a plus.
• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control/assurance reviews.
• Project support from scoping to final design and project closeout.
• Construction Support.
• Strong client focus and customer service.
• Coordination with Protection and Control.
• Prepare calculations for grounding, lightning protection, voltage drop, and load studies.

About the Opportunity

ControlPoint Technologies is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to provide project support within our Substation Engineering team. Candidates must have direct experience with substation projects for electric utilities. The projects will range from 4kV to 345kV and the candidate will be client facing and interface with the other disciplines. Must be an outgoing team player with the ability to provide client confidence.

Technical Responsibilities:

• Substation General Arrangement
• Control House Layout
• Plans and Sections
• Grounding
• Lightning Protection
• Conduit/trench Layout
• Material List
• Prepare calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lightning protection, voltage drop, AC/DC load studies, etc.)
• Support/coordinate engineering and design related to Civil/Structural aspects of the designs
• Coordination with Protection and Control

Engineering Responsibilities:

• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

Salary:

The base compensation range for this position is based on education, work experience, licensure, and qualifications.

Base Compensation Annual Range: $95,000 - $145,000
