Job summary

ControlPoint Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Protection and Control Engineer to support our Substation Protection and Control Engineering team on projects from 4kV to 345kV.

You will interface with clients and other disciplines to ensure successful design and execution. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in electric utility substation design, and strong communication skills; FE is a plus with PE licensure ambition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• FE is a plus with ambition to obtain PE licensure.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in electric utility industry.
• Experience in utility substation engineering with focus on design packages.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide project support for substation protection and control engineering.
• Interface with clients and other disciplines; contribute to scoping to final design.
• Perform quality control/assurance reviews and project closeout support.
• Coordinate with Civil/Structural/Substation teams and suppliers.
• Assist with relay settings and I/O schematics as needed.

About the Opportunity

ControlPoint Technologies is seeking a Senior Protection and Control Engineer to provide project support within our Substation Protection and Control Engineering team. Candidates must have direct experience with substation protection and control projects for electric utilities. The projects will range from 4kV to 345kV and the candidate will be client facing and interface with the other disciplines.

Technical Responsibilities:

• One Lines
• Three Line diagrams
• AC and DC schematics
• SCADA/RTU system design
• Panel layouts and Wiring
• Bill of Material Development
• Coordination with other disciplines (Civil/Structural, Substation)
• Relay Settings experience is a plus

Project Engineering Responsibilities:

• Perform quality control/assurance reviews
• Project support from scoping to final design and project closeout
• Construction Support
• Strong client focus and customer service
• Excellent communication skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelor'sDegree in Electrical Engineering
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) is a plus with ambition to obtain Professional Engineering Licensure (PE)
• Minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in electric utility industry
• Experience in utility substation engineering with focus on design packages
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus
• Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

Salary:

The base compensation range for this position is based on education, work experience, licensure, and qualifications.

Base Compensation Annual Range: $95,000 - $145,000
