Job summary

City of Lake Worth Beach seeks a Substation Engineer - GRANT to support the GRIP program, leading construction, inspection and maintenance of substations and network systems in Lake Worth Beach, FL.

This full-time, exempt role is based at the Utilities Building and offers vacation and sick leave accruals, 13 paid holidays, floating holidays, comprehensive medical benefits and retirement planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in substation engineering.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Experience with substation design and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and maintains substation equipment.
• Performs activities related to operation and maintenance of relays, reclosers, regulators, circuit breakers, power transformers, underground network equipment repairs of transmission voltage cables.
• Trains others, researches and studies equipment installation, operation, and maintenance manuals and books.
• Completes document review and project management during maintenance or capital projects.
• Available after hours for emergency and troubleshooting calls.
