Job summary

The City of Lake Worth Beach Florida is seeking a Substation Engineer for the GRANT project. This full-time exempt role is based on-site in Lake Worth, FL, and will support substation construction, inspection, and maintenance under the GRIP program.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's in electrical engineering and at least 3 years of substation experience, with strong knowledge of electrical principles, relay and transformer equipment, and project coordination with PMO teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in substation engineering.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• Experience with substation design and maintenance.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and maintains substation equipment.
• Performs activities related to operation and maintenance of relays, reclosers, regulators, circuit breakers, power transformers, underground network equipment repairs of transmission voltage cables.
• Trains others, researches and studies equipment installation, operation, and maintenance manuals and books.
• Completes document review and project management during maintenance or capital projects.
• Available after hours for emergency and troubleshooting calls.
