M&S Engineering, LLC in Spring Branch, Texas seeks an Experienced Substation Electrical Engineer to perform engineering and design duties from 4kV to 345kV, detailing protection and controls.

Responsibilities include creating design documents, coordinating with clients, preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets, and potentially taking on project engineer/manager roles; requires 3+ years substation design and license readiness in Texas.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering (Power emphasis preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years applicable post-graduation substation design experience
• Current EIT License in Texas or ability to obtain within 12 months (preferred)
• Current PE License in Texas or ability to obtain within 12 months (preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and written communications
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently or in a team
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• Travel willingness

Responsibilities

• Detail engineering and design of substation projects from conceptual through construction (4kV to 345kV)
• Detail relaying, protection, and controls engineering and design
• Create/modify design documents and drawings, specifications, and BOMs
• Coordinate with manager, clients, and others on project activities
• Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets and ensure adherence
• Take on project engineer/manager roles as required
