Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Substation Electrical EIT in Sacramento, CA. The role involves developing design options, performing calculations and creating drawings for electrical substations, with field and site involvement throughout design and construction phases.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, strong communication, and willingness to mentor and collaborate within an employee-owned culture. In-office presence 4–5 days weekly is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture.
• Willingness to be in office 4-5 days a week.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to client contract.
• Desire to obtain CA PE registration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses to develop design options and cost estimates.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, and designs for electrical substations.
• Develop one-line diagrams, protection schematics, SCADA schemes.
• Coordinate with Designers and CADD Technicians per standards.
• Conduct site visits during design, construction and as-built phases.
• Work with senior engineers on larger projects.
• Complete tasks with clear objectives and limited variables.
