Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation Electrical EIT to support design and analysis of electrical substations across low, medium, and high voltage systems. You will prepare drawings, calculations, and reports, review technical documents, and collaborate with designers to deliver compliant, practical solutions.

You will participate in site visits, support cost estimates, and work under the guidance of senior engineers to ensure project objectives are met on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• US Citizenship required.
• Interest in CA PE registration and growth in the field.
• Experience with AutoCAD and electrical design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, engineering document review, drawing review and revision, provide field construction support and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications among other tasks.
• Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports and designs for electrical substations (Low, Medium and High Voltage).
• Preparation of calculations, design sketches and redline drawings.
• Work with Designers and CADD Technicians to develop drawings per standards and project specs.
• Develop design deliverables including one-line diagrams, protection & control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, etc.
• Conduct site visits during design, construction and as-built phases of projects.
• Perform routine electrical engineering assignments with guidance from Project Engineer/Manager.
• Complete projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
