Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation EIT/Coordinator in San Antonio, TX to support power engineering studies, develop design options and prepare project deliverables such as drawings, estimates, and specs. You will work with Project Engineers and other EITs on engineering tasks, perform routine assignments, and contribute to an employee-owned culture committed to inclusion and innovation.

• Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations and assist in preparing project deliverables (drawings, cost estimates, specs).
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, other EITs, Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Substation EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)

Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures

Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.

Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers / professionals on larger projects

Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Engineers In-Training (EITs), Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed

Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
