Job summary

HDR, Inc. in North Dakota (Bismarck) seeks a Substation EIT/Coordinator to help analyze power-related design options, prepare deliverables, and support project teams. The role offers opportunities to work with engineers, BIM specialists, and project engineers while advancing toward EIT certification.

Required is a Bachelor's in Engineering with MS Office proficiency and an active participation mindset within our employee-owned culture. This is a full-time position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Certificate as Engineer in Training (EIT) is preferred; if not, a path to EIT is provided.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options and assist in project deliverables.
• Perform routine engineering assignments applying standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, other EITs, Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed.
• Support construction inspection/administrative activities.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Substation EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

• Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers / professionals on larger projects
• Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Engineers In-Training (EITs), Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed
• Support on construction inspection/administrative activities
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
