Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation EIT/Coordinator in North Dakota to contribute to power systems projects in a collaborative, employee-owned culture. You will analyze options, prepare drawings, cost estimates, and project specifications under supervision, while growing your EIT credentials.

Responsibilities include routine engineering tasks, working with project engineers, designers, and BIM specialists, and supporting field construction inspection and administrative activities.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering or related field, required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform engineering analyses and design reviews.
• Willingness to pursue EIT certification for career progression.

In the role of Substation EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

• Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers / professionals on larger projects
• Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Engineers In-Training (EITs), Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed
• Support on construction inspection/administrative activities
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
