Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation Project Manager in Las Vegas, NV to lead engineering projects of various complexities. The position requires expertise in engineering management, overseeing quality control, and team mentorship.

About the Role

HDR is looking for a Substation Project Manager to lead engineering projects of all sizes and complexities, partnering with engineering teams, clients, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Execute and manage all aspects of substation engineering projects, including scope, proposal development, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
• Coordinate and mentor engineering staff throughout the project life cycle.
• Oversee non‑engineering components such as public involvement, environmental permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, construction management, and other services.
• Lead the QA/QC process on EPC projects and ensure world‑class quality.
• Represent HDR in marketing, proposal development, and client management activities.
• Support business development and may grow a local team of engineers and technicians.
• Travel as required for business development and project execution.
• Perform other duties as needed to support project success.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience with at least 2 years of project management experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project (Access experience a plus).
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑management skills.
• Commitment to active participation in HDR’s employee‑owned culture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree.
• PMP certification.
