Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp seeks a Supervisor, Substation Engineering Design to lead a team of engineers in Akron, OH. The role focuses on detailed substation design, construction practices, and safe work methods, while managing multiple projects and ensuring timely delivery.

The candidate will review concepts, scopes, and bills of materials, coordinate with purchasing and field personnel, and maintain adherence to FirstEnergy standards and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution; minimum 8 years' experience.
• Electrical Engineering degree preferred; other degrees considered.
• In lieu of a BS, 15 years multi-disciplined technical experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to internal design team for substation projects.
• Develop detailed concepts, scope, and estimates; control scope changes with sponsor approval.
• Oversee BOM development and timely requisition of materials and equipment.
• Review drawings and documentation for accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with FE standards.
• Ensure all necessary drawings and docs are provided for the project.
• Review design for cost efficiency and optimum design criteria.
• Maintain records and update as-built deliverables and budgets.
