Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Substation Construction Manager for a multiyear data center substation project in the Rayville/Delhi, LA area. You will lead construction and commissioning, drive subcontractor performance, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence on site.

The role involves managing up to 25 personnel, coordinating field activities, and maintaining detailed field reports. This onsite position offers long-term growth across a growing utility footprint and future projects.

Qualifications

• Substation construction management experience.
• Experience with electrical distribution and power delivery projects.
• Ability to lead and coordinate subcontractor crews in the field (20–25 personnel).
• Strong knowledge of safety, quality control/assurance, and codes/regulations.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from construction documents/drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage subcontractor crews in construction and commissioning of a high-voltage substation.
• Drive subcontractor performance to meet safety, quality, schedule and cost targets.
• Oversee day-to-day field activities and coordinate work for efficient progress.
• Direct a team of up to ~25 personnel with clear guidance and leadership.
• Ensure all work complies with contract requirements, standards, and regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture and maintain QA/QC for all activities.
• Review construction documents to guide field execution and resolve issues.
• Oversee reporting, including standard construction reports and progress updates.
• Participate in risk and change management to document impacts and actions.
