Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking a Foreman to lead a field crew on utility substation construction projects across the region.

You will supervise 6–10 craft workers, coordinate daily work, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity in line with project requirements. This traveling, site‑based role starts in Lebanon, Kentucky, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a pay range of $48–$58 per hour, plus a $275 per diem.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in utility construction or a related skilled trade.
• Demonstrated technical experience in utility construction, preferably within substation construction.
• Experience with substation scopes such as civil foundations, grounding, structural steel, conduit, or electrical yard installation.
• Previous experience directing crew members or serving in a leadership role.
• Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, field safety requirements, and jobsite procedures.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain productivity in a busy construction environment.
• Comfort with using mobile field tools and project documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily crew activities and direct a crew of approximately 6–10 craft workers.
• Coordinate field execution to ensure tasks are understood and resourced safely and efficiently.
• Drive safety through tailboard talks, hazard assessments, and PPE compliance.
• Lead by example to maintain a positive safety culture and professionalism.
• Ensure work conforms to drawings, specs, client requirements, and standards.
• Support inspections with checklists, material verification, and photo documentation.
• Identify field issues and communicate them to supervision for resolution.
• Monitor productivity and provide accurate daily reports to field supervision.
• Coordinate with other crews to align activities across the project.
• Support crew members with day‑to‑day questions and site expectations.
