Job summary
Duke Energy is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the Substation Engineering team in downtown Cincinnati, OH. The role spans Engineer II or Engineer III depending on experience, focusing on design of distribution and transmission substations from 4kV through 345kV in Ohio and Kentucky.
The engineer will manage multiple projects, use CAD and structural tools, and deliver design releases with increasing independence, contributing to project schedules and technical excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- A master's degree in engineering may be considered in lieu of the B.S. degree.
- Minimum 2 years of engineering experience for Engineer II.
- Graduation with a BS in Engineering or PE licensure for Engineer III.
- Master's degree may substitute for the BS degree.
- PE license preferred for senior level.
Responsibilities
- Structural steel design.
- Reinforced concrete design.
- Foundation designs including mat, spread footing, and drilled shaft.
- Review site development designs.
- Drawing review for assigned projects.
- Engineering support during construction.
- Coordinate with team; manage multiple projects and schedules.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and sketches.
