Job summary

Alpha 3 Consulting in Elkridge, MD is seeking a Drafter I to contribute to substation projects using CAD tools and 2D/3D drafting techniques. The hybrid schedule combines three office days per week with two days remote, with collaboration across disciplines.

You'll support the creation of one-lines, schematics, electrical layouts, site plans, and materials lists while coordinating with vendors and design teams to resolve questions and incorporate feedback.

Qualifications

• Experience with CAD tools; MicroStation highly desired.
• AS/BS in engineering related field or relevant experience.
• Knowledge of drafting practices and procedures.
• Ability to work on a team and on multiple projects.
• Ability to visualize and design in 2D and 3D.
• Ability to incorporate comments and feedback.
• Time management and meeting deadlines.
• Drafting degree or certificate related to our work.

Responsibilities

• Utilize CAD tools to help develop substation projects.
• Assist in creation of one-lines, schematics, electrical layouts, site plans, structures, wiring diagrams, BOMs.
• Collaborate with vendors and construction teams, clarifying drawings and guiding design changes.
• Support onsite walkdowns with design team at various project stages.
