Job summary

Ventura County Health Care Agency is seeking Alcohol and Drug Treatment Specialists at levels I–III. The role involves intake, counseling, education, and case management across multiple facilities. Candidates may advance through levels with demonstrated competency and certification.

Level I focuses on interviewing and teaching, Level II expands to full counseling and discharge planning, and Level III leads staff and manages program outcomes. California driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in alcohol and other drug abuse treatment or prevention or its equivalent.
• Two years of experience related to alcohol and other drug abuse counseling.
• Five years of experience related to alcohol and other drug abuse counseling for Level III.
• Alcohol and Drug Counseling certification from DHCS approved certifying organization.
• Must possess and maintain a California Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Level I: conducts intake interviews, assessments, and teaches educational classes.
• Level II: conducts individual, group, and family counseling and monitors participation.
• Level III: leads and trains staff, assigns tasks, and analyzes program data.
• Adds and coordinates referrals and ensures continuity of care across facilities.
