Job description

Substance Use Therapist Department of Corrections $2500 retention bonus

This position is eligible for a $2,500 retention bonus.

Job Summary:

The Providence Center is seeking a Substance Use Therapist for the Department of Corrections. The therapist will provide individual and group therapy, monitor client progress, and perform assessments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct initial screening, intake, assessment, and orientation.
  • Provide crisis intervention and substance abuse counseling.
  • Develop treatment plans and evaluate client progress.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct, especially during crises.
  • Record-keeping and documentation in accordance with policies.
  • Collaborate with staff, community agencies, and clients.
  • Participate in training, meetings, and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field, or LCDP.
  • Experience in group facilitation and knowledge of criminogenic risk factors.
  • Ability to interpret documents, write reports, and speak effectively.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and insured auto.
  • Hours are Monday-Friday, with potential one evening per week.
