Job Title: Substance Use Outpatient Counselor Case Manager
LSSI is hiring a full-time Substance Use Outpatient Counselor Case Manager to provide individual, group, and family counseling services for clients experiencing SUDs and substance-related issues at our Elgin Outpatient substance use treatment program. The role requires a clinical, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed approach.
Schedule:
Tuesday through Friday from 11:30am to 10:00pm

Essential Functions:
- Provide counseling services to individuals with alcohol/drug, co-occurring, or gambling-related conditions using evidence-based practices.
- Coordinate and facilitate group and individual counseling sessions, including DUI and psychoeducation.
- Manage an assigned caseload, including documentation such as treatment planning, insurance authorization, and discharge plans.
- Communicate professionally with referral sources and complete necessary documentation.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, alcohol/drug evaluations, and DUI evaluations using DSM and ASAM criteria.
- Maintain weekly productivity and adhere to ethical standards including NASW Code of Ethics.
- Demonstrate professionalism and integrity in all interactions, respecting clients and colleagues.
Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in the substance use field preferred.
- Background check clearance required.
- Professional certification or licensure (LSW, LPC, LCSW, LCPC, or CADC) required or to be obtained within two years of hire.
- Annual TB test required.
- Knowledge of DSM-5 and ASAM criteria essential for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Experience with telehealth services preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation preferred.
- Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage preferred.
