The Substance Use Disorder Technician provides direct and supportive care to clients/patients bymonitoringday-to-day activities,observingand documenting behavior,assistingwith vital signs and health monitoring, intervening incrisesand communicating with the treatment team,facilitatinggroup and structured activities, and transporting clients as needed. This role supports a safe, therapeutic environment and requires adherence to program policies,accuratedocumentation, and active participation in the treatment team.

Key Responsibilities
- Superviseandengagewithclients-leadactivities,groups,andrecoveryskillssessionsthatpromoteadaptivebehaviorandsocialconnection
- Monitorclients'healthandsafety-obtainandrecordvitalsigns,observesigns/symptomsofwithdrawal,andescalatetomedicalstaffwhencriticalissuesarise
- Supportmedicationprocesses-observeanddocumentself-administrationorstaffadministrationofmedications,monitorOTCinventory/storage,andreportdiscrepanciesperpolicy
- Providedirectpersonalcareasneeded(grooming,bathing,dressing)inresidentialsettingsandassistwithadmission,transfer,anddischargeprocesses
- Facilitateurinecollectionandtesting,documentresults,andprocesslabsend-offs
- Completeaccurateshiftreportsandelectronicmedicalrecorddocumentation;communicatebehaviororclinicalconcernstothetreatmentteamandsupervisorpromptly
- Conductclientsupervisionchecks,bedchecks,andensureclientsarepresentforscheduledactivities
- Provideclienttransportationtoappointmentswhenrequiredandpracticesafedrivingperagencystandards
- Maintainasafe,cleanenvironment,reportmaintenance/safetyissues,andfollowallprogrampoliciesandprocedures
- Participateintreatmentteammeetings,trainings,andrequiredcertifications;completemandatorystate/CARFtrainingsandagencyonboarding
Education,Experience,and/orCredentialQualifications
- Highschooldiplomaorequivalentandtwo(2)yearsofresponsibleemployment
- Experienceinhumanservicesorarelatedfieldpreferred
- ExceptionstoqualificationsmaybemadebytheappropriateExecutiveTeammember
- ForSt.LouisCountyprograms:Bachelor'sDegreeORMAADCIorII

- Achievementofrequiredtraininghoursperstateregulation(e.g.,36-40hoursasapplicable)
- Mustbeatleast21yearsoldtooperatecompany-ownedvehicle(23for15-passengervan)
- ForKirksvilleRCFstaff,Illinoisstaff,andKansasResidentialstaff:evidenceofbeingfreefrominfectiousdisease(e.g.,TB)priortohireandannually
