Job summary

Brightli in Springfield, MO seeks a Behavioral Health Technician I to provide direct, compassionate support in a recovery-focused setting. You will monitor clients, assist with daily activities, and help implement care plans in collaboration with the treatment team.

Ideal candidates are empathetic, have strong communication skills, and are committed to fostering a safe, therapeutic environment while responding effectively to crises and supporting clients on their recovery journeys.

Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent with 2 years of responsible employment.
  • Experience in Human Services or related field preferred.
  • For Residential Care Facility (RCF): Credential as Level 1 Med Aid (LIMA) and Insulin Certified within 90 days in position.

Responsibilities

  • Admit, supervise, monitor, transfer, and discharge clients/patients.
  • Monitor vital signs and respond to critical symptoms, escalating to medical intervention when necessary.
  • Facilitate group rehabilitative support, education, recovery skills, or recreation groups as scheduled.
  • Document and report exceptional behavior and concerns related to client interactions.
  • Assist clients with personal care and daily activities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of client medications and monitor self-administration.
  • Foster adaptive behavior and positive social interaction.
  • Participate as an active member of the treatment team to identify client strengths and needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Admit, supervise, monitor, transfer, and discharge clients/patients.
  • Ensure monitoring of vital signs and respond to critical symptoms, escalating to medical intervention when necessary.
  • Facilitate group rehabilitative support, education, recovery skills, or recreation groups as scheduled and assigned.
  • Document and report any exceptional behavior and areas of concern related to client interactions.
  • Assist clients/patients with personal care and daily activities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of client medications and monitor self-administration of medications.
  • Foster adaptive behavior in clients by encouraging positive social interaction and role-modeling solutions.
  • Participate as an active member of the treatment team, helping to identify client strengths and needs.
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications
  • High School education OR equivalent and two (2) years of responsible employment.
  • Experience in Human Services or a related field preferred.
  • For Residential Care Facility (RCF): Become credentialed as a Level 1 Med Aid (LIMA) and be Insulin Certified within the first ninety (90) days in position.
Additional Qualifications
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle.
  • Must be at least twenty-three (23) years of age to operate a company-owned fifteen (15) passenger van.
Physical Requirements
  • ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
