Burrell Behavioral Health in Springfield, Missouri, is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician I to join our Recovery Services team. You will supervise clients, monitor vital signs, respond to crises, and assist with daily activities, contributing to a safe, therapeutic environment and supporting our recovery-focused mission.

The role requires empathy, strong communication, and teamwork to implement individualized care plans and engage clients in group activities, education, and skill-building.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent with two years of responsible employment.
• Experience in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Residential Care Facility (RCF) roles may require credentialing and insulin certification within 90 days where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Admit, supervise, monitor, transfer, and discharge clients/patients.
• Ensure monitoring of vital signs and respond to critical symptoms, escalating to medical intervention when necessary.
• Facilitate group rehabilitative support, education, recovery skills, or recreation groups as scheduled and assigned.
• Document and report any exceptional behavior and areas of concern related to client interactions.
• Assist clients/patients with personal care and daily activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of client medications and monitor self-administration of medications.
• Foster adaptive behavior in clients by encouraging positive social interaction and role-modeling solutions.
• Participate as an active member of the treatment team, helping to identify client strengths and needs.

Key Responsibilities

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications

• High School education OR equivalent and two (2) years of responsible employment.
• Experience in Human Services or a related field preferred.
• For Residential Care Facility (RCF): Become credentialed as a Level 1 Med Aid (LIMA) and be Insulin Certified within the first ninety (90) days in position.

Additional Qualifications

• Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle.
• Must be at least twenty-three (23) years of age to operate a company-owned fifteen (15) passenger van.

Physical Requirements

• ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
• Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
