Job summary

County of Glenn is seeking a Substance Use Disorder Counselor I/II (Limited Term) in Willows, CA. The role supports individuals and families through engagement, assessment, case management, counseling, and care coordination within the Behavioral Health Division.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of substance use life cycle symptoms, strong interpersonal skills, and a compassionate approach to clients and families, with bilingual abilities highly desired.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree in social/behavioral sciences desirable.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a California driver’s license and a certification similar to California DHCS Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor.
• Bi-lingual services highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial screenings and assessments; develops treatment and discharge plans.
• Provides individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management services.
• Advocates for clients with outside agencies and coordinates care.
• Complies with HIPAA, privacy laws, and confidentiality requirements.

Education
