Job summary

Roxbury Treatment Center in Shippensburg, PA, is seeking a full-time Counselor for our Substance Use Disorder Unit. You will assess patients’ drug and alcohol history, set treatment goals, and deliver therapeutic and educational services aligned with Roxbury’s philosophy.

The position follows a day schedule Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday. Roxbury operates a 112-bed behavioral health facility with acute units and a 60-bed chemical dependency unit, offering extensive benefits and professional

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with practicum) in health/human services.
• Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year (1,820 hours) clinical health/human service experience.
• Current RN license and nursing degree with at least 1 year counseling experience (1,820 hours).
• Full certification as an addictions counselor by a statewide or national certification body.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s drug and alcohol history and establish treatment goals.
• Provide therapeutic and educational services aligned with Roxbury Treatment Center philosophy.
• Work on the Substance Use Disorder Unit on a full-time day schedule.

Education

Master's Degree or higher in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with practicum)

Bachelor's Degree in related field and 1 year clinical experience

RN licensure and nursing degree with 1 year counseling experience (1,820 hours)

Addictions counseling certification (statewide or national)
