Job summary

Roxbury Treatment Center in Shippensburg, PA, seeks a full-time Counselor for the Substance Use Disorder Unit. The role involves assessing patients’ drug and alcohol histories, setting treatment goals, and delivering therapeutic and educational services in line with the center’s philosophy and objectives.

The position features a day shift with Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday rotations, at a 112-bed behavioral health facility offering comprehensive care including detox in a 60-bed unit.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree or above in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing or related field with practicum in health or human services (drug/alcohol setting preferred).
• Bachelor's Degree with 1 year (1,820 hours) in health or human services, preferably in drug/alcohol setting.
• RN licensure with nursing degree and at least 1,820 hours counseling experience in health or human services.
• Full certification as an addictions counselor by a certification body in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s drug and alcohol history and establish treatment goals.
• Provide therapeutic and educational services aligned with Roxbury Treatment Center objectives.
