Job summary

BayMark Health Services, Inc. seeks a compassionate Substance Use Counselor to guide patients through medication-assisted programs, offer coping strategies, and conduct group and individual sessions in an outpatient clinic.

The role includes assessments, treatment planning, collaboration with healthcare staff, and discharge planning to support long-term recovery. Eligibility requires diverse degrees and state Certifications with supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 1 year counseling experience
• Master’s degree with minimum 1 year counseling experience
• Certification (CAC/CADC or CADC II) or MA state LADC II with supervision

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and eligibility interviews
• Develop and review initial treatment plans with each patient
• Complete Bio-psychosocial assessments
• Provide individual and group counseling; coordinate services
• Involve family members in recovery when possible
• Address patient grievances and complaints
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science or related field

Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science

Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma with current certification and supervision
