Job summary

MedMark Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor to support patients in an outpatient setting. The role involves individual and group sessions, collaboration with physicians, nurses, and fellow counselors, and developing personalized treatment plans.

You will conduct assessments, document progress in an EMR, and help patients navigate medically assisted treatments and aftercare to achieve long-term recovery. A positive, non-judgmental approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess an LCDC in Texas and be able to provide licensure details.
• Experience working with chemically dependent individuals preferred.
• Demonstrates a positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.
• Familiarity with an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to patients in treatment.
• Assist patients through medically assisted treatments and crisis coping strategies.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to support treatment outcomes.
• Develop treatment plans, conduct assessments, and help with aftercare planning.
• Maintain timely documentation and coordinate services across care teams.
• Assess patient progress and adjust counseling approaches as needed.
• Follow all supervisor directives and participate in staff meetings.

The Substance Use Counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.

Position Overview

The Substance Use Counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.

Responsibilities

• Substance use counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisting treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction.
• Counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies.
• Counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and in collaborate with doctors, nurses and other counselors to assist the patients’ achieving overall outcome.
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients in trauma informed manner
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications

• Must possess an LCDC in the state of Texas
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records)
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
