Job summary

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is seeking a per diem Clinician for Meadowbrook Acute Treatment Services (ATS) in Brockton, MA. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health and at least one year of supervised substance use counseling experience.

Pay ranges from $29 to $34 per hour, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include performing assessments, providing individual counseling and group sessions, discharge planning, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

High Point has programs offering Acute Treatment Services (detoxification) for clients seeking voluntary Inpatient Substance Use Treatment and Clinical Stabilization Services

High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• An understanding of the relationship between substance abuse and mental health issues and/or self-help programs
• Diagnostic, assessment skills and case management ability
• Promote and enhance ones knowledge about the symptoms of psychiatric illness and addiction
• Ability to facilitate a group/lecture
• Ability to set limits and enforce rules
• An understanding of boundaries and ethics
• Maintains and submits any current Licensure or Certificate necessary for the performance of the position
• Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations
• Participate in Treatment Team Meetings
• Maintain assigned caseload; Providing direct care to patients – including assessments of the new patients, individual counseling, discharge planning, treatment plans, daily progress notes, daily groups, group note completion and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments
• Responsible for each assigned patients medical records. All records are to be professional, complete and thorough with entries made in a timely manners
• Provide direct care to the patients. This care will include, but not limited to, individual counseling, group facilitation, lectures, orientation for new patient’s. discharge and aftercare planning, and case management of patients assigned
• Responsible for linking patient’s with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding the patient and his/her family access outpatient services when appropriate
• Attend all unit, facility meetings and case conferences as directed by the Clinical Director
• Attend mandatory trainings
• Responsible for continued education in the field of substance abuse and related courses
• Responsible for contacting the insurance company for authorization, as needed
• Utilize walkie-talkie as campus responder
• Utilize standards precautions at all times
• Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient’s rights
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Director, the Clinical Director, and/or the Senior Clinician
