Job summary

The Florida Department of Corrections seeks a Counseling & Social Services Supervisor I to manage and deliver substance abuse programs in a correctional setting. The role requires clinical supervision, curricula development, and collaboration with community partners to promote re-entry and recovery.

The position is not telework and requires reporting to the FDC office in the served area. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and relevant certifications, plus two years of TC or program

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
• Certification in Addictions Counseling (CAP/CCJAP, etc.) per Florida Certification Board.
• Two years of experience in a Therapeutic Community (TC) setting or two years of management experience as a Program Director/Clinical Supervisor.
• A qualified professional as defined by Florida Statutes Chapter 397.311 (36).

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage inmate substance abuse programming at a correctional institution.
• Oversee daily operations and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
• Assist with curriculum development and provide clinical supervision.
• Interpret and apply departmental standards and communicate procedures to staff.
• Direct and supervise staff, monitor activities, and approve leave to maintain coverage.
