This open competitive advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Lowell Correctional Institution in the Substance Abuse Department.

The Counseling & Social Services Supervisor manages and delivers substance abuse programs in correctional institutions, develops evidence-based curricula, provides clinical supervision, fosters a supportive environment, collaborates with community partners, and ensures policy compliance to promote successful re-entry and recovery.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

• The position reports directly to the Regional Correctional Programs Administrator and indirectly to the Warden or Assistant Warden of Programs. It is responsible for implementing and managing inmate substance abuse programming at a correctional institution, overseeing daily operations, and participating in various staff and institutional meetings and trainings.
• Assists with curriculum development and delivery, provides clinical supervision per Florida Administrative Code 65D-30, supervises staff, supports program evaluation through data and report analysis, and participates in clinical and multi-disciplinary staffing.
• Interprets and applies departmental standards and policies, interviews and recommends applicants for hire, and communicates new and existing procedures to staff.
• Acts as a liaison for inmate reentry with institutional and community partners, monitors compliance and action plans, and stays updated on substance abuse and reentry developments.
• Directs and supervises staff, monitors daily activities, evaluates performance, develops improvement plans, provides guidance and motivation, manages disciplinary actions, ensures training compliance, and approves leave to maintain office coverage.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.

Must be certified or certified eligible through Fl Certification Board - Certification in Addictions Counseling (CAP/CCJAP, etc.).

Must have either two (2) years of experience in a Therapeutic Community (TC) setting; or two (2) years of management experience as a Program Director, Clinical Supervisor, or Qualified Professional as defined by Chapter 397.311 (36), F.C.

Must be a qualified professional as defined by Chapter 397.311 (36), Florida Statutes.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
