Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. seeks a Substance Abuse Program Clinical Director to lead and oversee a comprehensive treatment program within a correctional setting.

The role emphasizes program design, evaluation, staff supervision, and compliance with state and accreditation standards. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s in a related field, Arizona licensure (preferred LADC or LPC), seven years of counseling and two years in supervision, plus a valid AZ driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in sociology, psychology, counseling, criminal justice or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree with work experience may substitute.
• Must be licensed or eligible for Arizona licensure as a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (preferred) or Licensed Professional Counselor.
• Seven years of substance abuse counseling experience and program management strongly preferred.
• Two years progressive supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in correctional settings preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of didactic, counseling, and treatment modalities.
• Commitment to ethics and professional conduct; strong written and oral communication.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees department operations, treatment service deliveries, contract compliance, personnel actions, and training functions.
• Provides supervision, guidance, and training to assigned staff; conducts performance reviews and related actions.
• Ensures compliance with applicable company, state, federal, and accreditation rules.
• Monitors program operations and ensures contract, certification, and accreditation requirements are met or exceeded.
• Maintains relationships with facility management, department heads, and outside customers as appropriate.
• Prepares and reviews daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on program performance.
• Reviews audits, conducts needs assessments, and recommends actions for senior management.
• Participates in team staff meetings and approves department correspondence and schedules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
