Job summary

BayMark Health Services is seeking a Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee to assist patients through medically assisted programs. The role involves conducting group and individual sessions to support crisis management and coping strategies, and evaluating progress during therapy.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, establishing and reviewing treatment plans, completing bio-psychosocial assessments, involving families, and developing aftercare and discharge plans.

Qualifications

• Must hold ADT or be eligible in Maryland.
• Experience with chemically dependent individuals is a plus.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with others.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination.
• Facilitates, establishes and reviews the initial treatment plan for each patient.
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Involve families and significant others in the recovery process when possible.
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with others.
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor.
