Job summary

MedMark Treatment Centers, a BayMark Health Services company, is a progressive substance abuse treatment program in Maryland seeking a Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee. You will assist patients through medically assisted programs and provide coping strategies through group and individual sessions.

You will collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists to optimize therapy, evaluate progress, and contribute to crisis management and discharge planning for long-term recovery

Qualifications

Applicants must currently hold an ADT or ADT eligible status in the State of Maryland.
Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals a plus.
Satisfactory criminal background and drug screen

Responsibilities

Conducts initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility.
Facilitates and reviews initial treatment plans with each patient.
Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
Involves families in the recovery process when possible.
Develops aftercare and discharge plans.
Ability to handle stressful situations and interact with others.
Other related duties as determined by supervisor
