Job summary

BayMark Health Services, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to support patients through medically assisted programs, lead group and individual sessions, and assist with crisis management and coping strategies in an outpatient setting.

The role collaborates with doctors, nurses, and therapists to monitor progress, plan aftercare, and ensure best outcomes. Maryland licensure and background check are required; compensation ranges with experience.

Qualifications

• MD Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists license/certification required (ADT, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, LCPC, LCSW, LGADC, LCADC)
• Background check and drug screen required

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility
• Involve families and significant others in recovery when possible
• Facilitates and reviews initial treatment plans with each patient
• Responds to patient grievances and complaints as needed
• Develops aftercare and discharge plans
• Other related duties as assigned by supervisor
