Job summary

Montefiore New Rochelle is seeking a Counselor to provide individual and group counseling and case management for patients receiving integrated substance abuse treatment and primary care services at the Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. The role focuses on developing and reviewing treatment plans and coordinating services within the clinic.

The position requires a CASAC license or a Master’s in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.

Qualifications

• Bachelors with CASAC license or Masters in Social Work, Mental Health Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist from an accredited school.
• Must have one of the licenses CASAC, MSW, MHC, or MFT at all times to work.
• At least one year of experience in addiction counseling.
• Computer skills including Outlook and Microsoft Word are required.
• OHS Annual Assessment is required and a Fit Test is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling and case management.
• Develop, implement and review treatment plans on a quarterly/annual basis.
• Coordinate services within the clinic and liaise with outside agencies.
• Monitor methadone treatment progress through counseling and toxicology review.
• Document all patient interactions and maintain clinical charts.
• Attend regular IDC and staff meetings and ensure billing is accurate.
