Job summary

New Season in Colorado is hiring a Substance Abuse Counselor to engage with patients through individual, group, and family counseling as part of a collaborative treatment team. The role focuses on intake, treatment planning, counseling sessions, and patient education, with strong emphasis on recovery support and community impact.

The position offers day-one benefits, up to 3 weeks PTO, tuition reimbursement, and competitive pay at $27/hour, plus the potential for referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• Education/licensure varies by state; refer to state-specific requirements.
• Experience in the substance abuse field is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Complete intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork.
• Document patient progress through counseling and interaction through groups.
• Complete psychosocial and an individualized treatment plan within the required time frame.
• Identify any clinical/case management needs and address them.
• Perform individual, group, and family counseling as required.
• Perform at least 20 hours of direct one-on-one patient contact per week through individual and/or group counseling sessions.
• Educate patients in all aspects of treatment, corresponding health issues, and steps to recovery.
• Obtain Urine Drug Screens and initial patient photo identification.
• Always act in the best interests of the program and company; honors, supports, and protects the proprietary data and rights of the company.
