Job summary

Bridgeway Community Health seeks a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor for its Corrections team. The role focuses on education, motivation, and supporting clients to achieve positive changes and healthier lives.

You will work within a multidisciplinary group emphasizing evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care. You will conduct assessments, provide individual and group counseling, document thoroughly, and coordinate with other providers and referral sources to ensure seamless client

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's Degree or higher in Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university.
• CADC I or higher certification with MHACBO.
• Typically 1–3 years of drug & alcohol addiction counseling experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered care using evidence-based and trauma-informed services.
• Use motivational interviewing to establish therapeutic rapport and engage clients.
• Conduct ASAM and DSM-5 assessments.
• Collaborate with other providers to ensure seamless services.
• Provide evidence-based interventions to address treatment and recovery goals.
• Facilitate evidence-based groups and conduct individual counseling.
• Document group notes, individual notes, status reports, and other contacts promptly.
• Monitor random urinalysis testing and report results.
• Complete monthly status reports for caseload and share with involved providers.
• Coordinate with referral sources and attend multidisciplinary staff meetings.
