Job summary

The GEO Group Australia Pty Ltd. is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor in Los Lunas, New Mexico. The Counselor will develop and conduct educational programs on drug and alcohol abuse, facilitate counseling sessions, and work collaboratively with other professionals.

Ideal candidates will possess an associate degree in a behavioral science field, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have experience working in a correctional setting. A flexible and supportive environment is offered along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Psychology, Sociology, or Human Relations.
• Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) required.
• Preference for experience in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and conducting educational programs on substance abuse.
• Facilitates group and individual counseling sessions.
• Maintains knowledge of new developments in the field.

Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to work with a team

Knowledge of the Twelve Step Program

Education

Associate degree in a behavioral science field
