Job summary

New Season Treatment Centers in Virginia seeks a Substance Abuse Counselor to engage patients with individual, group, and family counseling. Work with a collaborative treatment team to address clinical needs and patient well-being.

CSAC with Bachelor's Degree is required; experience in substance abuse is preferred. The role supports ongoing treatment, documentation, and adherence to program guidelines in a community-based setting.

Qualifications

• CSAC with Bachelor's Degree
• Experience in the substance abuse field preferred
• Refer to state-specific requirements for this position

Responsibilities

• Complete intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork.
• Document patient progress through counseling and group interactions.
• Develop psychosocial and individualized treatment plans within required time frames.
• Identify clinical/case management needs and address them.
• Conduct individual, group, and family counseling as required.
• Provide at least 20 hours of direct patient contact weekly.
• Educate patients on treatment, health issues, and steps to recovery.
• Obtain urine drug screens and initial patient photo identification.
