Job summary

BayMark Health Services, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor for Health Care Resource Centers in Massachusetts.

The role focuses on guiding patients through medically assisted treatments, conducting group and individual sessions, and collaborating with the care team to optimize recovery outcomes. You will assess progress, develop treatment plans, and ensure accurate documentation while adhering to state regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have a CADC or be working toward a CADC and able to obtain within 2 years of working while supervised.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals.
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records).
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual counseling sessions.
• Lead group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate care and present patient status to the treatment team.
• Develop and implement patient treatment plans per state requirements.
• Provide clinical services and patient education for opiate addiction.
• Maintain thorough documentation and use available tools.

Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!

Position Overview

The Substance abuse counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting programs and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Substance abuse counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, Substance abuse counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during therapy. Substance abuse counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists for patients’ therapy and treatment for best overall outcome.

Responsibilities

• Individual will conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate care of assigned patients and present patient status and concerns with treatment team accordingly.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and the development and implementation of patient treatment plans according to State regulatory requirements
• Provide clinical services and patient care and education and opiate addiction counseling services to patients
• Excellent documentation and computer skills required
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications

• Must have a CADC or be working toward a CADC and able to obtain within 2 years of working while supervised.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals;
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records)
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Salary Range

Salary ranges from $22.77 to $25.30 an hour.

The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty, and training.
