Job summary

Health Care Resource Centers is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor for outpatient programs. You will conduct individual and group counseling, support crisis management, and collaborate with doctors and therapists to optimize patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes CADC certification progress, a non-judgmental approach, and accurate EMR documentation. Training on AI-assisted documentation tools is provided to streamline notes and care delivery.

Qualifications

• Must have a CADC or be working toward a CADC and able to obtain within 2 years of working supervised.
• Experience working with chemically dependent individuals preferred.
• Ability to maintain a positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate care and present patient status to treatment team.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and create treatment plans per state requirements.
• Provide clinical services and education on opiate addiction.
• Maintain accurate documentation and proficient computer use.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!

Position Overview

The Substance abuse counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting programs and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Substance abuse counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, Substance abuse counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during therapy. Substance abuse counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists for patients’ therapy and treatment for best overall outcome.

Responsibilities:

• Individual will conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate care of assigned patients and present patient status and concerns with treatment team accordingly.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and the development and implementation of patient treatment plans according to State regulatory requirements
• Provide clinical services and patient care and education and opiate addiction counseling services to patients
• Excellent documentation and computer skills required
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Must have a CADC or be working toward a CADC and able to obtain within 2 years of working while supervised.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals;
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records)
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Salary Range:

Salary ranges from $26.34 to $29.26 an hour.

The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty, and training.
