Job summary

PERC-eng, based in Houston, TX, is seeking a subsea engineering specialist for a full-time position focused on the design of subsea oil and gas equipment, pipelines, and related infrastructure. The role encompasses field layout, specification development, and the analyses needed to specify, design, and install equipment, with familiarity in API and DNV codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in the field of subsea installation, equipment, or projects.
• Experience performing subsea equipment installation analysis.
• Experience installing and/or maintaining subsea equipment/infrastructure.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% time.

Responsibilities

• Lead field layout and design of subsea equipment.

• Maintain logs and report activity to project managers and executives.

Job description

This is a Houston, TX based full-time position for the engineering of subsea oil & gas equipment, pipelines, and related infrastructure. Duties of role include the field layout and design of subsea equipment, development of specifications and procedures, as well as the analyses required to specify, design, and install the equipment. Candidate must be knowledgeable of the related analysis software and possess some familiarity with the related API & DNV codes.

Essential Functions

• Possesses a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the project, analysis, and/or design of subsea oil and gas infrastructure.
• Ability to work in Orcaflex and desire to learn additional analysis software & skills
• Ability to generate method statements, guidelines, and procedures
• Capable of technical specification development
• Supports Basis of Design/Basis of Analysis
• Demonstrates clear communication skills, both written and oral, to speak at all levels within the business and is comfortable working on their own and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage interfaces between clients, vendors, and third parties
• Report job activity and maintain detailed logs about work activities, reporting to project managers and executive management.
• Identify opportunities for improvement of work products and standards.
• Ability to meet deadlines working on multiple projects and clients with minimum supervision and taking some responsibility for planning and prioritizing tasks.
• Maintain a high standard of work performance and ensuring that all done is in accordance with the standards of the company and client.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field(s) of subsea installation, equipment, or projects.
  • Experience performing subsea equipment installation analysis
  • Experience installing and/or maintaining subsea equipment/infrastructure
• Infrequent travel:
  • <25% – on average travels less than 1 week out of the month

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Ocean or other related engineering field
