BBSI is seeking a Subsea Oil & Gas Test Technician to support setup, operation, testing, inspection, and documentation of specialized components used in subsea and oil & gas applications. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical testing experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Subsea Oil & Gas Test Technician

Job Category: Full-Time / Direct Hire

Pay: $32.00-$42.00 per hr DOE + Full Benefits and Bonus

The Opportunity

BBSI has partnered with a well-established engineering and testing organization specializing in highly technical testing and validation services for the subsea, oil & gas, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing industries.

We are seeking a mechanically inclined Subsea Oil & Gas Test Technician to support the setup, operation, testing, inspection, and documentation of specialized components and equipment used in demanding subsea and oil & gas applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on technician who enjoys working with mechanical systems, pressure testing, hydraulics, instrumentation, test equipment, and precision components in a highly technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and perform testing on components, assemblies, and equipment used in subsea and oil & gas applications.
• Prepare test specimens, fixtures, tooling, equipment, and instrumentation according to established procedures and customer requirements.
• Perform mechanical, pressure, hydrostatic, environmental, or other specialized testing as required.
• Operate pumps, pressure systems, valves, gauges, sensors, data acquisition equipment, and related test instrumentation.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, test procedures, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Assemble and disassemble mechanical components, fixtures, fittings, tubing, and test equipment.
• Monitor pressure, temperature, load, and other test parameters to ensure testing is performed accurately and safely.
• Record test data, measurements, observations, and results with a high level of accuracy.
• Troubleshoot test setups, mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and system performance.
• Inspect components before and after testing for damage, wear, leakage, or other abnormalities.
• Maintain test equipment, tools, fixtures, and work areas.
• Follow established safety, quality, calibration, and documentation procedures.
• Work closely with engineers and other technicians to resolve technical issues and complete customer projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on technical experience in mechanical testing, hydraulics, industrial equipment, aerospace, manufacturing, or a related technical environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with hydraulic or pneumatic systems, pumps, valves, fittings, pressure vessels, or high-pressure equipment highly desirable.
• Experience performing pressure, hydrostatic, mechanical, environmental, or component testing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical procedures.
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and test equipment.
• Experience with gauges, sensors, instrumentation, and data acquisition equipment is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results.
• Ability to follow detailed technical and safety procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and test equipment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers and other technicians.
