Our coverage extends across the London market, global (re)insurance market, insurance-linked securities market, and US property and casualty market.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our established US-based Sales team to develop client relationships and drive successful new subscription sales across one or more of our verticals.

The Role

The Subscriptions Sales Director is a critical role within this growing team, focused on outbound prospecting within the US insurance market. You will develop a deep understanding of your customers, the challenges they face, and how Insurance Insider’s platform and services help them overcome those challenges.

To succeed, you must combine prospecting acumen with a consultative sales approach to win new accounts and meet monthly revenue targets. This role involves selling to both mid-level and enterprise-level customers across a defined territory, supported by a US-based marketing team.

Responsibilities

  • Win new business through the sale of subscriptions and licenses.
  • Own the complete sales cycle from prospecting and pipeline building to deal closure.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the company’s markets, products, and buyer personas.
  • Develop a territory plan highlighting growth opportunities.
  • Conduct detailed pre-call research to enhance outreach effectiveness.
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers with a need for insurance news.
  • Manage and convert trial users into paying subscribers.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and editorial teams to position for success.
  • Provide customer feedback and market intelligence to product and content teams.
  • Attend client meetings and industry conferences as needed.
  • Maintain records and activity updates in Salesforce.
  • Understand and outperform competitors by leveraging company strengths.
  • Align your territory plan with the company’s strategic goals.

Candidate Requirements

**Must Haves:**

  • Proven experience engaging with C-suite executives (e.g., CMO, CIO, CEO) with the gravitas to operate at that level.
  • 5–10 years of success in a solution sales environment.
  • Experience in technology/data subscriptions sales.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook.
  • Data-driven and capable of using sales metrics to enhance performance.
  • Adaptable and motivated by new challenges.
  • A natural forward planner who critically assesses personal performance.

**Nice to Haves:**

  • Experience selling to insurance carriers and reinsurers.
  • Experience working with editorial staff and journalists to achieve commercial outcomes.

Salary & Benefits

Base salary starting at $90,000 annually based on experience. On-target commission starting at $90,000.

Competitive benefits and 401K package.
