Job summary

Safety Insurance Group seeks a Subrogation Specialist to independently evaluate recovery opportunities and pursue settlements with responsible parties. You will manage a high caseload, review settlements, and escalate cases to arbitration or collection attorneys when needed.

Ideal candidates will have a college degree or equivalent insurance experience, plus 3+ years handling Massachusetts auto insurance claims. This is a full-time on-site role in Boston with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• College degree or commensurate insurance experience required.
• Three or more years handling Massachusetts auto insurance claims preferred.
• Previous subrogation or collections experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage a high caseload.

Responsibilities

• Reviews claims to determine potential for recovery
• Identifies responsible party coverage
• Evaluates claim liability assessments and indemnity payments
• Gathers, investigates, and develops supporting documentation to secure settlements
• Reviews incoming settlement offers
• Negotiates settlements with responsible parties
• Prepares files for arbitration when appropriate
• Refers appropriate files to collection attorneys
• Develops and maintains documentation, including case maintenance and aging files
• Hears arbitrations as an Arbitration Forums arbiter
• Performs other activities as required
