City of Maypearl is seeking a Subrogation Specialist to assess claims and identify liable parties, with a focus on recovering funds from third-party sources. You will communicate with members, insurers, and uninsured parties in writing and verbally.

The role requires a BA/BS in a related field and at least one year of related experience. Licensing in Property/Casualty is preferred; strong MS Office and Guidewire skills are valued.

Description

This role is responsible for assessing claims for subrogation potential by identifying responsible parties, determining theories of liability, and evaluating applicable third-party insurance coverage with the goal of recovering claim funds from the appropriate sources. This position involves communication with Member representatives, third-party insurance carriers, and uninsured responsible parties, both verbally and in writing.

Essential Functions

Required Responsibilities*

• Evaluates claim assignments to determine subrogation viability.
• Prepares and sends notices and demand letters to third-party carriers and uninsured parties.
• Responds to Letters of Representation from workers’ compensation claimant attorneys.
• Communicates status and final outcome of subrogation claims to Member contacts.
• Conducts docket reviews to identify claims requiring escalation or follow-up actions.
• Negotiates settlements with third-party insurance carriers and other responsible parties.
• Processes subrogation recoveries and deductible reimbursements.
• Prepares cases for closure or potential litigation.
• Processes recovery checks for claims.
