Millerbernd Manufacturing Company Llc in Winsted, MN is seeking a Submerged Arc Welder 1 for 2nd shift or Weekend shift. The role sets up and operates SAW equipment to weld pole shafts, with an AWS SAW certification target and potential incentive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with welding is preferred.
• Successful completion of AWS certified SAW within 14 days.
• Prefer graduation from an accredited trade school for welding.
• Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and weld symbols.
• Working knowledge of weld setup parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
• Knowledge of welding properties of a variety of metals.
• Ability to perform basic shop math functions.
• Ability to set up work and determine operation sequence.
• Ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.
• Ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of people.
• Ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions.
• Maintain a safe and productive working environment.
• Ability to electronically record production information.
• Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork in English.
• Able to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• As a Submerged Arc Welder 1, you will: Fuse (weld) metal pole shafts together by means of Submerged Arc Welding process in the fabrication of steel poles.
• Perform welding operations requiring most of the following: working from prints and drawings or other specifications; requires knowledge of welding properties of various metals.
• Setup, operate, and perform general maintenance of equipment.
• Make mathematical calculations in preparing product or setting up the machinery.
• Use hand tools and measuring devices in the performance of work.
• Monitor the production board and internal paperwork to perform tasks in the designated sequence.
• Enter job data in production tracking system.
• Must be AWS SAW certified within 90 days.
• Weld quality from this operator consistently pass NDT examination.
• Escalates equipment or quality issues.

The Opportunity: The Submerged Arc Welder is responsible for the set-up and operation of a submerged arc seam welding machine to place a continuous weld on one or two sides of pole shafts.

Salary Range:$23.06 - $27.03/hour (non-exempt)

Incentive bonus opportunity: Freight Train Profit Sharing - Average of +$3.50/hour based on meeting goals
Shift Schedule: 2nd shift Monday - Thursday 3pm - 1am OR Weekend shift Friday - Sunday 5am - 5pm
Shift Differential: 2nd shift - $1.50/hour OR Weekend shift - $2.50/hour

As a Submerged Arc Welder 1, you will:

• Enter job data in production tracking system

• Typically, is going to operate 1 seam welding machine
• Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements
• Follow company policies in relation to safety, cleanliness, attendance etc.
