Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a D441 Test Engineer to plan and execute tests for Combat and Weapons Systems and Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems across submarine classes. Responsibilities include directing test activities, safety briefings, and ensuring procedures meet NAVSEA requirements.

The role requires collaboration with trades, ship management, engineering, and government personnel to deliver safe, efficient test evolutions within shipboard and shop environments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute combat and weapons systems tests in shop, CCSMs, and shipboard environments.
• Qualify and perform duties of a Shift Test Director per NAVSEA standards.
• Conduct safety briefings and ensure re-entry control procedures are followed and safety is maintained.
• Certify prerequisites before tests commence and review test procedures for conformance.
• Analyze recorded data for adherence to test procedures and specifications.
• Prepare post-test reviews and document non-conformances and hold-ups.
• Coordinate with trades, ships management, engineering, and government personnel.
